EN24

Overview

EN24 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy steel offering high strength, toughness and hardenability. It is used for heavily stressed components and large-section engineering parts.

Heat Treatment

  • Hardening approximately 830–860°C
  • Oil quenching
  • Tempering generally around 540–680°C

Mechanical Properties

  • High tensile strength
  • High toughness
  • Excellent hardenability
  • Good fatigue resistance
  • Typical Q&T hardness depends on section and tempering condition
