Overview

EN47 is a silicon-chromium spring steel offering high elastic strength, fatigue resistance and good resilience.

Heat Treatment

  • Austenitizing approximately 830–860°C
  • Oil quenching
  • Tempering generally around 400–550°C, according to required spring properties

  • High elastic limit
  • High fatigue resistance
  • Good resilience
  • Typical tempered hardness approximately 40–50 HRC, depending on treatment
