H11 is an air-hardening hot-work tool steel known for its combination of toughness, wear resistance, thermal-fatigue resistance and resistance to softening at elevated temperatures. It is widely used for demanding hot-work tooling.

Heat Treatment
Annealing: ~800-850°C
Stress relieving: ~650–700°C
Hardening: approximately 1000–1020°C
Quenching: air/gas or suitable controlled cooling
Tempering: approximately 550–600°C, generally double tempered
Mechanical Properties
Typical working hardness: 48–52 HRC
Quenched hardness: approximately 52–56 HRC
High toughness
